SCRIPTURE John 6:44 “No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw him: and I will raise him up at the last day” 

COMMENTARY We need look at the usage of the various verbs and mood within the verse.  There is little doubt that the Father draws us to Jesus Christ; this is also taught in other places in Scripture. However, we see that “can” is in the present tense and “draw” is in the first aorist so a more accurate representation of this is that “No one can come and keep coming to me unless the Father who sent me draws and keeps drawing him, and I will raise him up at the last day.” 

Why would the Father stop drawing a person?  It is because they have used their ability to choose against God and to refuse to bear fruit (consistent with John 15:1–6).  In short, this does not address the case where the Father ceases to draw people.  Clearly there are many He has not drawn or has stopped drawing.  Further, the drawing here seems to be to Jesus Christ, not God generically.

Finally, although there are those who try to separate the wills of God into two or more discrete wills, this argument fails in two ways. First while there are two Greek words for will (theléma and bouléma) they have similar meanings. Bouléma often references will, counsel, or purpose and theléma often references what one wishes or has determined shall be done. But these two words are often used in a manner that suggests one will is simply a wish, the other always a command. Yet the contextual usage does always support this. Second and perhaps more importantly, any given man does not know the exact purposes of God in any given situation or for any individual unless Scripture tells us.
