SCRIPTURE Colossians 1:21–23 “And you, that were sometime alienated and enemies in your mind by wicked works, yet now hath he reconciled In the body of his flesh through death, to present you holy and unblameable and unreproveable in his sight: If ye continue in the faith grounded and settled, and be not moved away from the hope of the gospel, which ye have heard, and which was preached to every creature which is under heaven; whereof I Paul am made a minister.”  

COMMENTARY This passage is talking about Christ’s Church as the bride of Christ, to be presented to Him holy and un-blameable and un-reprovable (Revelation 19:7–8).  Note that the people Paul is writing to are currently believers who are “reconciled” to God.  Paul makes it clear that only those who “continue in the faith” and are “not moved away from the hope of the gospel” will be a part of the bride, the church.  Those who do not meet these conditions will not be part of the church, which means they will not be saved.
